Over the years, almost every type of photographer has attended our workshops, even videographers!

Our workshop is for newbies, veterans and everyone in between. We often have 10+ year veterans sitting side by side with new photographers who are just starting out.

With over 8 years in business now, we’ve actually experienced the ups and downs. We’ve got the experience and the knowledge you need, but more importantly we have the wisdom to apply it to YOUR unique situation and circumstances.

You will learn effective and step-by-step strategies for marketing, websites, social media, attracting enquiries, converting enquiries into bookings, pricing, email communication, generating word of mouth, ideal clients, confidence … and so much more, plus anything else you want to ask us about.

You’ll leave the workshop inspired and motivated, but most importantly you’ll have a solid plan to make achievable improvements to your business – and it will set you up for a kick-ass future!

To achieve the success you want, you don’t have to be a born sales-person or business-person or marketing guru. You don’t have to be a freakishly talented photographer either. And you don’t have to spend a bunch of money on advertising and marketing.

Everything we teach is do-able by any photographer. Our workshops are the ones we wish we could have done when we first started out. Gosh we would have saved so much time, money and heartache!

Matt is a teacher at heart as well as a problem-solving analytical thinker. Katie is the most genuine, non-business-y, non-sales-y person you’ll ever meet and she doesn’t have a single business bone in her body.

The small group (only 15 attendees) enables us to be really flexible with what we teach and tailor it to each unique group.

ALL THE DETAILS

When: 14th, 15th and 16th July 2014 (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday)

Location: An epic private house at 3 Pelican Place, Mt Eliza, just outside Melbourne.

Time: 8:30am each day, for a 9am start. Until 6pm.

Cost: $1,750 (inc GST) for the 3 days.

Includes morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and snacks each day. Dinner and accommodation not included.

Payments are split as follows:
– 1st payment of $650 to book your spot
– 2nd payment of $1,100 is due 1 month before the workshop – we’ll send you a reminder 🙂
– ALL payments are non-refundable, but your place is transferable to another person.
– In the event you’re unable to attend, you will be solely responsible for finding someone to take your place.
– Accommodation is not included.

Our business has helped us live a fun life, one full of travel and adventure. It’s also put us in the position to use photography to make a difference in the world through the work we do in Cambodia and Nepal.

Ultimately, we’re just a couple of kids from Toowoomba, Queensland. Everything that we’ve achieved … it all started with a dream. And then we used photography and business to make it all happen.

ABOUT US!


Over 8 years ago we said goodbye to our day jobs to pursue this crazy photography adventure. We’ve been running successful photography businesses full-time ever since.

As a couple of kids from Toowoomba, there’s no way either of us could have imagined the things we’d do in that time, the places we’d visit, and the fun we’d have along the way.

As passionate as we are about photography, we’re even more passionate about providing others with the tools they need to make their hopes and dreams a reality.

Since starting Matt and Katie Photographers we’ve shot around 40 weddings a year.

Our portrait business was founded on doing awesome sales without having to be sleazy salespeople. In one year Katie did $260,000 in family portraits without a single loss-leader promotion or voucher-free-shoot offer in a town with nearly 100 shoot and burn photographers who weren’t charging much for their work.

We travel … a lot!

2010 – 2 months overseas.
2011 – 3 months overseas.
2012 – 4 months overseas.
2013 – 3 months overseas!

Our photography has taken us to many amazing places such as Thailand, England, Wales, France, Greece, Italy, Turkey, America, Canada and New Zealand. Recently, even more countries have been added to our ever growing list of destinations, including Nepal, Fiji and Cambodia.

We’ve spoken at conferences such as WPPI, the Nikon AIPP Event and Hair of the Dog. In the last 2 years nearly 300 photographers have attended our workshops in Australia, New Zealand, USA and Canada.

In November 2013, we led our first Photo Adventure tour to Cambodia, and this year (2014) we’re speaking at WPPI again next year and also Canada Photo Convention.

Most of all, we very strongly believe in the power of photography and business to improve all of our lives. Gosh that sounds cheesy! 🙂 But it’s the truth, and it’s why we teach and coach other photographers. Whether your goals and dreams are big or small … we will teach you how to use photography and business to reach them.
