As well as our wedding photography business, we’ve also run a successful portrait photography business since early 2006. That business was called Katie Finn Photography and as of 2011 it’s now been merged into Matt and Katie | Photographers.

We started out like any other home-based business, using spare rooms as our “studio” and slapping high fives whenever we managed to fluke the occasional $500 portrait sale.

Along the way, we’ve made every mistake in the book and fortunately we learned some pretty savvy business skills and sales strategies that consistently lead to $2,000+ portrait sales. And the good news is you don’t have to be born sales person to do it!

We’ve created a series of instructional videos to pass along the lightbulb moments that we’ve experienced during the growth of our portrait business. It’s these lightbulb moments that helped us go from random $500 portrait sales to consistent $2,000+ sales. And we’d like to share what we’ve learned with you.
