What Photographers and Haiti Have in Common

As many of you know, giving back is something that’s very important to us, and something we’ve actively done for years. As photographers, we have a unique tool that allows us to give back in ways that a lot of people can’t – by taking pictures.

There’s lots of ways you can do this, whether it’s by taking pictures of local rescue animals for their adoption profiles so they can find their forever homes faster, volunteering your time at a women’s shelter to take pictures of families without the abuser in them, or by doing something like we did and leading photo tours to Cambodia and donating proceeds to the local school, there’s lots we can do.

One of our fellow international photographers, Jamie Delaine of Jamie Delaine Photography and her husband Randy, have come up with a really creative way to give back.

Here’s a bit about their story here:

And a bit more about their project and the community they want to help here:

And that’s where the idea for The School Sessions was born.

If you’re not available for a session on the 12th, that’s no problem – you can donate your fee for a session done before that date as well.

To read more and donate to The School Sessions, check out their website here. You can also follow their progress on social media here: Facebook / Instagram / Twitter

We love seeing photographers really come together like this to use their talents to make a difference in the world. If you have an opportunity to donate, we’d love to hear about it in the comments!

If now just isn’t the right time – don’t worry. We hope you enjoyed checking out some of the amazing things Jamie and Randy have been up to 🙂
